Some Observations on the Preparation of Papers for Electronic Publication*,
C. PETIT-JEAN-GENAZ, J. POOLE, CERN; A.N. OTHER, NEWLAB
Papers presented at PAC'95, EPAC'96[1] and PAC'97
have been published on WWW and on CD-ROM. This new publication
method requires special care on the part of authors and more work
in the preparation of the final document for the editorial team.
Experience has highlighted the need to give more help to authors
with the preparation of their papers, particularly for the inclusion
of graphics and use of fonts. The majority of the time after
receipt of the postscript files is spent fixing problems which
either prevent the postscript file from passing through the software
or which result in poor quality in the final document. This paper
summarises the difficulties encountered and suggests improvements
in the methods and procedures to be implemented for EPAC'98.
