Authors submitting on diskette should prepare it on either a PC or Macintosh.
Submitting files on diskette or by ftp
For the editorial team to be able to repair troublesome contributions, authors
are requested to submit ALL of their source files as well as the postscript.
Some additional information is also required so that the team can work with the
files and this is why there is so much requested on the form which has to accompany
the submission.
The printed version of the paper is essential so that the electronic version can
be verified and it can also serve as a master for scanning, if there are problems
and all attempts at recovery
fail.
Contents
The following should be included
- The source file
- Any special files/macros used to make the document
- Graphics files
- The postscript file (do not send PDF, even if you are capable of producing
it)
In some cases
it may not be possible to write to a diskette and in this case either a CD-ROM or
ZIP disk may be used. Finally the ftp server may be used ahead of the deadline.
.
Compression
A file which fits on a 1.4Mbyte diskette without any compression will usually perform very well.
If the postscript file will not fit on the diskette, there may be a problem
with one of the graphics or the postscript has not been created correctly. The file should
be verified (for example by using the test procedure) before submission for publication.
