FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR YOUNG
SCIENTISTS TO ATTEND EPAC'06

the EPS-AG is in a position to offer a limited number of grants for young graduate students under 30 years of age to attend EPAC'06.
Selected applicants will receive a lump sum to cover accommodation and food, and a contribution towards travel expenses. The grant will also cover full conference registration.
The deadline for the submission of applications is Wednesday 18 January, 2006. Requests received after that date cannot be taken into consideration.
Applications for grants must be made using the Web form, and a letter of support signed by the Head of the Institute, Laboratory or University Department where the young scientist is working/studying must reach the EPAC'06 Local Conference Secretariat, also by 18 January 2006.
Successful applicants will be informed by early-March 2006, and will be required to respond with a formal confirmation by end-March 2006.
EPS-AG PRIZE FOR A YOUNG SCIENTIST FOR QUALITY OF WORK AND PROMISE FOR THE FUTURE
Young scientists applying for grants should note that the EPS-AG is also offering a prize to
- a student registered for a PhD or
diploma in accelerator physics or engineering or to
- a trainee accelerator physicist or engineer in the educational phase of their
professional career,
for the quality of work and promise for the future.
Candidates will be judged by the EPS-AG 2006 Prizes Selection Committee chaired by Norbert Angert, GSI, Darmstadt on the basis of contributions submitted to the EPAC'06 conference programme.
The winner will receive a framed certificate, and a cash prize of 1000 Euros and will have the opportunity to make a short oral presentation during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session during EPAC’06.
Applications to be considered for the prize must be made by the deadline for the submission of abstracts to the conference Wednesday 18 January, 2006. Justifications from supervisors/line managers are required to support candidatures.
